Spoken Word Performance Workshop - June 20
€15.00

About the workshop:

During this workshop you will learn more about how to bring your written words to the stage, and make them shine.

We’ll be exploring the following questions: How do you add emotions to your speech? How do you let your entire body speak? How do you add layers and nuance to a single emotion?

* It will be an active workshop, so please wear comfortable clothing, and bring a written piece to the workshop

Bio:

Kevin-Ahn Kwang Soo-Groen is a behavioural change expert and spoken word & performance artist. He does not write nor perform to impress, he speaks to reveal. His work asks us to sit with what we usually avoid and to feel more alive in the process.

As an adopted South Korean boy growing up in The Netherlands ‘identity’ has always been an important question throughout his life that only led to more questions, and it took him a lifetime to make sense of this experience (and still does).

Moving in between corporate and art spaces, Kevin shows how words can bridge differences, challenge biases and wake us up to our own humanity.

What do we do?

We are a community and a platform.

We host spoken word poetry events. We also print a publication Word Up Pages.

Our Word Up Podcast features interviews with artists from around the world.

We participate in international partnerships (trainings, seminars, showcases, etc.) with likeminded organizations and communities.

While Word Up is based in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, all of our content is presented in English.

This helps our international community of artists to connect, create, learn, and grow together.
